There is an S&W micrometer click adjustable rear sight. Stock Configuration & Condition: The Magna grips are checkered walnut with a diamond at the grip screw and S&W logo medallions. There are no chips, cracks or scratches on either grip panel.
The right panel has “348 / 796” pressed into the back. The grips rate in about Excellent overall condition. Type of Finish: Blue Finish Originality: All Original Bore Condition: The bore is dark and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its metal finish.

There is a very faint drag mark on the cylinder and some light handling marks. The hammer and trigger are nicely case colored. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition. Mechanics: The single and double actions function correctly. This is a Square Butt, K Frame Four Screw revolver with a pinned barrel and recessed cylinder.
There is a.500” wide checkered target hammer and a.265” wide serrated trigger with over-travel stop. We did not fire this handgun. Box, Paperwork & Accessories: An oak box with the initials “R.M.S.” inlaid on the brass-hinged top is provided. The exterior is in Fine condition but has half a dozen fine scratches in the top. The exterior bottom is felt covered as is the inside of the lid.
The bottom of the interior is also covered in felt, including the three cradles which help to secure the revolver in place. The interior of the box is in Fine to Excellent condition. Also provided are a loop style cleaning rod, used cotton bore mop, a bristle bore brush and S&W screwdriver, all in Very Good condition. Finally, there is a hinged S&W warranty card (complete) which appears to have the serial number filled in by Smith & Wesson. This paperwork is curved and has some stains; we think it is in Very Good condition for its age. Our Assessment: This four screw Smith & Wesson was made soon after they started the practice of stamping model numbers on the guns. It is in truly Excellent condition, particularly for being 55 years old.
